About the AI Opportunity Atlas
Built by operators, for operators
The AI Opportunity Atlas is a practical, continuously evolving guide to how artificial intelligence is changing the way businesses operate.
It's designed for people who are responsible for making things happen — founders, business leaders, functional heads, product teams, technology leaders and the people putting AI into practice.
There is no shortage of AI news, tools, predictions and opinions. What's harder to find is a clear, connected view of what AI can actually do for a business, where it creates value, what is already working and what it takes to implement successfully.
That's why we created the AI Opportunity Atlas.
From possibilities to practical applications
The Atlas brings together current practices, established approaches, emerging opportunities and real-world examples across business functions. It helps you explore:
- What is possible
- AI use cases across functions, workflows and business objectives.
- What is working
- Established practices, practical examples and lessons from implementation.
- What makes sense for your business
- Opportunities considered through company size, maturity, priorities and capabilities.
- What it takes
- The data, technology, processes, skills and governance needed to implement each use case.
- What comes next
- Related opportunities, dependencies and more advanced applications as your organisation evolves.
Rather than presenting hundreds of disconnected AI use cases, the Atlas maps the relationships between them.
A single opportunity may support multiple business goals, involve several functions or depend on capabilities already being developed elsewhere in your organisation.
The aim is to help you see the bigger picture while staying grounded in practical execution.
Explore in your own direction
There is no single starting point or prescribed route.
You can begin with a business outcome you want to achieve, explore opportunities within a particular function or look at how emerging AI capabilities could change existing workflows.
You can also provide context about your organisation to discover more relevant opportunities.
Each path takes you deeper into practical examples, implementation considerations, prerequisites and connected use cases.
Explore freely, follow what interests you and move between opportunities as your understanding develops.
A living, evolving resource
AI is developing quickly, and the practices that matter today will continue to change. The Atlas is designed to evolve alongside them.
New use cases, implementation patterns, emerging capabilities and practical examples will be added as they become relevant.
The content will be reviewed at least every three months to keep it useful and current, with updates made more frequently when meaningful developments emerge.
We distinguish between established practices and emerging opportunities, recognising that what is technically possible is not always ready or appropriate for every organisation. Each opportunity carries one of these classifications:
- Established practice
- Already used in operational business environments, with documented implementations or credible supporting evidence.
- Emerging practice
- Credible early implementations or increasing adoption, but methods and outcomes are still developing.
- Experimental opportunity
- Promising but exploratory, with limited production evidence; needs significant validation.
- Awaiting assessment
- Evidence for this opportunity has not yet been formally assessed. Treat it as unverified until reviewed.
Practical knowledge, not AI hype
The Atlas is built around a simple belief: technology matters when it changes how work gets done and creates measurable value.
It is not intended to promote every new AI tool or suggest that every business should adopt the same technology.
Instead, it provides a structured way to explore opportunities, understand trade-offs, learn from current practices and make better-informed decisions.
Built by people who operate businesses, for people who are doing the same.
